Breast Health Services
Brookhaven Breast Health Services is a newly formed practice that is proudly affiliated with Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center. The practice will feature the expertise of Dr. Stanley Klausner, a surgeon who has had a long-standing practice dedicated to breast disease and who is committed to the health and well being of the community. In addition, Dr. David Mangiameli has joined the practice as the Associate Director of Breast Health Services.
Dr. Mangiameli is a cancer surgeon with advanced training and experience in the area of breast surgery. He was SSO Fellow for Breast Surgery at Columbia Presbyterian in New York, and has completed a fellowship in Immunotherapy for Cancer at the National Institutes of Health, and National Cancer Institute (NIH/NCI), Bethesda, MD. In addition he completed his fellowship of Surgical Oncology at NIH/NCI, Surgery Branch.
Dr. Mangiameli's expertise along with the experience of Dr. Klausner, offers patients in the community a formidable team of dedicated physicians whose focus is breast health.
The Brookhaven Breast Health Services practice was created to give patients in eastern Long Island a local choice for breast health care. Many patients living in this area travel long distances in an effort to find reliable cancer care. The goal of this newly formed service is to offer patients a seamless breast cancer service line that is staffed by superior talent, and organized in a progressive way so that the patient's mind, body and spirit can be healed. The practice is located at 285 Sills Road in Patchogue and is affiliated with Brookhaven Women's Imaging Center.
Located at that same address, The Women's Imaging Center is a convenient, high technology-based facility offering a Full-Field Digital Mammography program that is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and certified by the FDA, Bone Density Testing utilizing the dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) Scan, and an ultrasound system for breast, gynecological and obstetrical evaluation. Additionally Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center has the advanced diagnostic capability of the Stereotactic Breast Biopsy System.
