Debra Grimm Named LI Community Hospital VP And Chief Nursing Officer

Debra Grimm, DNP, MS, RN of Holbrook, NY has been named Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Long Island Community Hospital Center, Patchogue, NY. Richard T. Margulis, president and CEO made the announcement.
"Debra Grimm is a dynamic leader with over 22 years of experience in nursing, tertiary care, hospital operations and nursing education in an academic medical center," stated Mr. Margulis, "Our nurses stand on the front line of healthcare every day. Debra has the progressive leadership and extensive clinical expertise necessary to mentor and guide these dedicated and talented professionals. Our goal together is to provide our nurses with the enhanced environment of support they need and empower them as we continue to elevate the level of quality and compassionate care for the 400,000 lives we serve here in our community. She is a superb addition to our Executive Team, I am very proud to have her on board."

Prior to her recent appointment at Long Island Community Hospital, Debra was the Assistant Dean for Business and Assistant Clinical Professor at the Stony Brook University School of Nursing, Associate Director of Nursing and Administrator Stony Brook Children's and Associate Director of Nursing for the Medicine, Pediatrics and Emergency Department at Stony Brook University Hospital.
A graduate of Quinnipiac University with a Doctor of Nursing Practice, Nursing Leadership, Dr. Grimm also earned a Master of Science in Health Policy and Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Stony Brook University, an Associate Degree in Nursing from Suffolk County Community College and also attended Certificate programs at Molloy College and the Wharton School of Business.
Professionally active as a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Suffolk County Chapter, the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, the American Organization of Nurse Executives and the New York Organization of Nurse Executives, Dr. Grimm has earned many awards and honors including the Pura Pantojas Award for Nursing Excellence, the American Heart Association Heart Saver Award, The Stony Brook School of Nursing Faculty of the Year Award and the Stony Brook University Hospital Community Service Award.
