Beyond our in-hospital volunteer opportunities, Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center also offers caring individuals the chance to donate their time to:
- Hospice: Individuals who are interested in providing companionship for patients in Hospice or support to families with loved ones in Hospice are encouraged to contact our Hospice program at 631-687-2960.
- The Long Island 2 Day Walk to Fight Breast Cancer (LI2DAY): The goal of the LI2DAY is to raise awareness and funds for Long Islanders fighting breast cancer. Brookhaven is proud to support this nonprofit, which has raised over $1.4 million for the cause – with 100% of that going directly to outreach organizations throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties. The money is used toward medical expenses, transportation, prosthetics and wigs, physical therapy, babysitters, research and education. Brookhaven Hospital is honored to be one of the beneficiaries of this wonderful fundraiser.
At Brookhaven, we work together as a team and as a family. The LI2DAY is the perfect opportunity for our staff to come together to help those affected by breast cancer in our community. TEAM BMHMC has raised more than $250,000 through their participation in the annual walk. We encourage you to join us in supporting this worthwhile cause. For more information on how you can get involved, please LI2DAY's website.
