BMHMC Joins the Fight Against Breast Cancer

Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center is proud to support The Long Island 2 Day Walk to Fight Breast Cancer (LI2DAY). The goal of the LI2DAY is to raise awareness and funds for Long Islanders fighting breast cancer. To date, the walk has raised over 1.4 million dollars for the cause Ñ 100 % of that going directly to outreach organizations throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties. The money is used towards medical expenses, transportation, prosthetics and wigs, physical therapy, babysitters, research, and education. Brookhaven Hospital is honored to be one of the beneficiaries of this wonderful fundraiser.

The LI2DAY is no ordinary "walk in the park." The walk takes participants on a two-day, 35-mile journey throughout Suffolk County. This walk may test your strengths and abilities, but the camaraderie you will feel, and the memories you will take away will be well worth the effort.

At Brookhaven, we work together as a team and as a family. The LI2DAY is the perfect opportunity for our staff to come together to help those affected by breast cancer in our community. The BMHMC team's 22 members raised $32,000 for the 2007 Walk. The team was honored for their achievement at the LI2Day's Annual Appreciation Luncheon. We encourage you to join us in supporting this worthwhile cause. For more information on how you can get involved, please click here: www.li2daywalk.org.
